A driver is due to appear in court after allegedly having no driving license or car insurance in Great Lever.

Officers spotted the motorist on Lever Edge Lane, and they will be in court next year.

It comes as local neighbourhood officers have been carrying out traffic operations in the area, as it draws closer to Christmas.

So far, the operation has resulted in multiple people being reported for not following road traffic regulations.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police, Bolton South said: “This week your local neighbourhood officers have been conducting traffic operations in the lead up to Christmas, taking the fight back to those who think the rules do not apply to them.

“This operation has resulted in multiple people being reported for not abiding by road traffic legislation.

“A driver was summoned for having no driving licence and no car insurance after being spotted by officers driving on Lever Edge Lane.

“This individual will find themselves before the courts in 2024.”
