A man has been charged with shoplifting after several incidents in Bolton.
Roy Allen, 36, whose address has not been released by police, has been charged with multiple counts of shoplifting across the town.
A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesman said: “GMP's Bolton shoplifting team have arrested and charged a man with shoplifting offences after a series of incidents across Bolton in November 2023.
“Roy Allen (14/07/1987) of no fixed abode has been charged with four counts of shoplifting.
“He has been remanded to appear at Manchester & Salford Magistrates Court today, Thursday, December 28, 2023.”
The charge comes as police tackle crime in Bolton.
GMP has been stepping up its crackdown on neighbourhood crime.
The force's Operation Acquire includes four days of action spanning across November and December.
Extra police resources will be deployed to target and arrest those suspected of committing neighbourhood offences in Greater Manchester.
The latest GMP Acquire work is the operation's third sequence of action after November and December last year, and June and July this year.
Hundreds of people were arrested during those periods and officers provided thousands of crime prevention leaflets across neighbourhoods in Greater Manchester.
Acquire aims to "robustly tackle neighbourhood crime and endeavour to keep our communities safe".
