A suspected stolen motorcycle was seized by police after its rider “stalled in shock".

The officers had been on patrol in the Middle Hulton area after having heard reports about anti-social behaviour involving people with bikes.

When they arrived at Edge Hill Road they came across a man with a motorbike who tried to get away.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Local neighbourhood officers have patrolled the area of Edge Hill Road due to reports of ASB with bikes.

“When on the street a male stalled his bike in shock and then fled the area leaving the bike behind.

As yet no further details have been released about the alleged rider or where the bike is believed to have been stolen from.

But this comes amid recurring concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour on the roads across Bolton involving both motorbikes and cars.

Officers have urged anyone with any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour on the roads or otherwise in their communities to get in touch by calling 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.

Alternatively, witnesses can also call independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
