An investigation is underway after a designer handbag worth thousands of pounds was believed to have been stolen.

Police say the men’s DIOR handbag was taken from the branch of Selfridges on Exchange Square in Manchester City Centre.

And officers have released a CCTV image showing a man and a woman they want to speak to.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Officers believe that two suspects entered the store, took the bag, and made no attempts to pay for the item before making off from the store with the high value item.

“The item stolen is a men’s DIOR handbag worth approximately £2000.

“GMP officers are looking to speak to the two people as officers believe they will be able to provide further information regarding this incident.

"Officers would also like to speak to anyone else with information who was visiting the store on Friday November 24 2023 between 1:30pm and 2pm, or who may have seen the pair flee from the store.”

Anyone with any information including mobile or CCTV footage or who witnessed the alleged incident has been urged to come forward.

They can do so by calling 101 quoting log 802 of 04/12/2023.

Alternatively, witnesses can call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
