A man led police on a chase after being spotted at the wheel talking on a mobile phone, say officers.

Police officers with GMP Bolton South Neighbourhood Team say the motorist was first spotted using a phone while stopped at a traffic light which was showing green.

A PC attempted to speak to the driver, but said officers he made off from the scene.

The incident happened on Monday and a short pursuit took place

The motorist was arrested and detained on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, no insurance, failing to stop, using a hand held device and possession of cannabis.
