The owner of a new bar and grill says that the official opening was a huge success and the excitement is building ahead of the restaurant on site opening.

It Sear on Market Street in Westhoughton officially opened on Friday and is already the talk of the town, which is fast becoming a vibrant food and drink destination.

Jack Ince, from Deane, is part owner at It Sear Westhoughton along with David Murphy.

Jack said: “It was really busy on Friday.

“We had a bit of a slow start but from 5pm on Saturday it was really picking up.

“Hopefully we will start work next week on the restaurant.

The Bolton News: “We can’t say the official opening date for the restaurant yet, but we are aiming for February/March.

“It’s just a relief to be at this point and it went better than I thought.

“Customers have given us some really good feedback.”

More information is expected to be revealed about the restaurant and menu in the coming weeks, on their new website and social media channels.

For the next five weeks Jack says the focus will be on the bar, whilst the restaurant is being finished.

After being a chef since he was 16, Jack is keen to oversee the restaurant side of things when it opens, and he says he can see Westhoughton becoming the new favourite place to go.

The Bolton News: He says that there are already quite a lot of pubs and bars in the area, and that the only thing missing are more restaurants.

He said: “Westhoughton is very up and coming.

“There’s going to be a lot more bars and restaurants, and I think it will take over Bolton.”

The style of food will be English tapas, which will be changed quite frequently depending on the season and the ingredients.

With high hopes for the future, Jack says that they would hopefully like to open more bar and grills in the future.

There are also plans to carry out a refurbishment on the restaurant later down the line.
