Michelle Keegan shared behind-the-scenes footage of her hit Netflix thriller Fool Me Once - including her in a stunning wedding dress for the gripping drama - with her 7.2 million followers.

Filming for the series, which has become an international hit, took place in Bolton and across the North West — with key scenes shot at Bolton School and in Le Mans Crescent.

This week, Michelle, who plays Maya Stern, shared a number of photos during filming including snaps of her with legendary actress Joanna Lumley and of her in the bridal dress for the wedding shoot.

For those wondering, the wedding dress was supplied by ‘The Confetti Box - Bridal Centre’ in Eccles, which was contacted last August to provide the dress - and told to keep it a secret until the series aired.

'Fool Me Once' has now been rated as number one in over 60 countries, with Michelle herself sharing on her Instagram how “it feels like I’m in a dream”.

Bridal Store owner, Mrs Maria Kelly, initially began selling dresses for a large company in 1985.

It was a mix of a of studying fashion design at Salford College, and her mum’s passing in 1987, that encouraged Maria to open her own bridal centre.

After going solo in 1988, Mrs Kelly opened her first boutique at a small shop Salford, which her husband and daughters lived above in the beginning.

Then 10 years ago, she managed to purchase her current multi floor store, located on Church Street, Eccles.

Maria’s daughters were contacted by the ‘Fool Me Once’ set designers last August.

It was her eldest, Emma, who suggested the show use their famous ‘ALTHEA’ gown by Maggie Sottero, but they “did not like how plunging the neckline was at the front, so Emma suggested how to redesign it”.

After Emma’s vision of altering the front with lace became a reality, the dress was approved by Netflix’s costume designers.

The Kelly family were then instructed to “keep it quiet until the show aired, which we did and the internet has gone crazy for it”.

After years of hard work, Mrs Kelly is “over the moon with the response we have had since the programme aired“.

This is not the first time that ‘The Confetti Box’ has featured on screen, however. Maria continues to explain: “We have been filmed by Coronation Street with two different story lines. The producer even asked if I would like a walk on part with my dog!”

Maria’s daughter (far left in the group pictures) went to school with Coronation Street’s Maria (Samia Longchambon), and the two have stayed friends since.

She continues: “The boutique has also been used in a programme called Shameless, and years ago we supplied Caroline Quentin with a bridal dress for her role in Von Trapped”.

Maria’s daughters, Emma, now 42, and Jade, 39, “both joined me in the business when they were 16… they both run it now as my husband and I are semi-retired”.

‘The Confetti Box’ have won numerous awards over the years, including their industries equivalent of ‘Oscars’, according to Mrs Kelly.

She states: “We have survived Covid, and we are still here. Getting this opportunity of more people seeing how good we are as a family business means the world”.

The store also offers bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses and suits for purchase or hire. The story is centred on a combat pilot (played by Michelle Keegan) whose husband (Richard Armitage), from a wealthy family, is murdered.

Adapted from the novel of the same name by crime writer Harlan Coben, the show has gripped audiences with its twists.
