A much-loved Holcombe Brook bar and restaurant is closing after a decade of service.

Hoysters on Bolton Road will open for the last time today, Friday, after 10 "amazing years".

Owners announced the site will be shutting as the lease on the premises comes to an end.

In a statement, the venue said: “Dear loyal customers, sadly our lease is up, and this Friday will be our last.

“Thank you to our customers, suppliers, and entertainment for all your support over the last ten amazing years.

“Finally, thank you to our excellent staff members for all your hard work over the recent years, without you our business would not survive.

“Thank you all, Hoysters.”

On social media, customers have pleaded with owners to reopen the venue in a new location with one person saying: “You need to re-open somewhere else, you had a mix of great food and a great atmosphere, it was the best.”

Another added: “This is so sad!

“I was hoping the rumours weren’t true.

“I’ve had so many good times with friends in this bar, great food and fabulous cocktails. You will be sorely missed.”

Hoysters has left a lasting impact on its customers, many of whom hold fond memories of the site.

One customer said: “Absolutely gutted.

“What a top place you’ve been over the years, on our doorstep, of which I’ve frequented too many times I can remember both on planned occasions and many unplanned.

“Celebrated my 50th in there last year and had a ball.

“Service and experience have always been fantastic.

“Always loved the quirkiness of the place- certainly a local gem within the Greenmount/Holcombe community.

“You’ll be missed genuinely. I wish the team the very best for the future and thank you for the memories.”
