POLICE and Trading Standards seized more than £1,000 worth of counterfeit cigarettes from a premises in Atherton.
Greater Manchester Police said earlier this week that illegal tobacco products were seized and one man was arrested in connection with this.

An investigation into the matter remains ongoing.

A Wigan Council statement said: "Following a joint visit by GMP and Trading Standards, illegal counterfeit cigarettes, tobacco and e-cigarettes, with a street value of over £1,000, was seized from a premises in Atherton this week. An investigation is ongoing.
"Anyone who is concerned about the sale of illegal tobacco or e-cigarettes can report it to Wigan Trading Standards: regulation@wigan.gov.uk or 0808 223 1133".
