A number of motorists have been caught out by the average speed cameras on the A666.

St Peter's Way  from the M60 to the centre of the town.

The road is subject to a 50mph speed limit, which is clearly signposted and marked by average speed cameras.

These capture the speed at which a driver goes between two set points rather than getting their speed at a single moment in the manner a normal camera would.

Here are the drivers, all of who live outside Bolton, who have been  fined recently for going above the 50mph limit.

Karl Boddy drove a Volkswagen at 57mph between Bradford Street and Raikes Lane while heading southbound in June last year.

The case against the 53-year-old was proved at Manchester Magistrates Court.

Following this Boddy, from Piccadilly Street, Haslingden, Rossendale, was fined £220 and given three points on his licence.

Adeshewa Olumide went at 69mph while driving a Nissan Quashqai heading south between Bradford Street and Raikes Lane in June last year.

The case against the 39-year-old was proved at Manchester Magistrates Court.

Following this Olumide, from Ashton Road, Hyde, was fined £220 and given three points on his licence.

Imran Ahmad drove northbound between Raikes Lane and Bradford Street at 58mph while behind the wheel of an Audi in June last year.

The case against the 38-year-old was proved at Manchester Magistrates Court.

Following this Ahmad, from Rutland Street, Oldham, was fined £220 and given three points on his licence.

Jade Ashworth drove at 62mph driving south between Bradford Street and Raikes Lane while driving an Audi in June last year.

The case against the 28-year-old was proved at Manchester Magistrates Court.

Following this Ashworth, from West View, Haslingden, Rossendale, was fined £220 and given three points on her licence.
