A couple who won a staggering £61m on the EuroMillions lottery have revealed just some of the items they bought following the win.

Richard and Debbie Nuttall, both 54,from Colne scooped £61,708,231 share of the £123 million jackpot prize from the draw on January 30 – with the other winning ticket having been bought in Spain.

The National Lottery presented the winners of the jackpot today at a press event at Mitton Hall Hotel in the Ribble Valley.

One of the first questions on everyone’s lips was: ‘Have you bought anything?’

Their first purchases since the win have been new clubs for keen golfer Richard, a £300 hairdryer and 1,200 thread-count cotton luxury bedding.

Richard has also brought a brand-new BMW X5, which was selected for its extra-large boot, big enough to transport his golf clubs.

Speaking today Richard said: “I am big into golf so I bought set of golf clubs.

“Then we bought cotton bedsheets.”

Richard also said they had been thinking of downsizing their home and had looked at a bungalow.

Richard has already made his first purchase of a brand-new BMW X5, which was selected for its extra-large boot, big enough to transport his golf clubs.

Richard also said it was ‘good to get the story out there’ when asked about being the centre of the attention.

He said: “We thought about staying private and the news was going to leak anyway and it would have been a completely different story.
He also added that “Friends and family will be taken of.”

Debbie has handed her notice in at her civil engineering job and self-employed accountant Richard said he would carry on working until the end of the tax year.

“I have told some of my clients I will work till the end of the tax year. There are a lot of payrolls. In fact I was doing some this week.

“People have got to get paid. It does not matter what your situation is. So I said I will work till the end of March.”
