Cameras are rolling in Bolton town centre has filming takes place for the next Harlan Coben thriller.

Hot on the heels of the success of Fool Me Once, which was also filmed in Bolton, Missing You is now being shot in Le Mans Crescent and Victoria Square.

A worker on scene confirmed it was for the new Netflix thriller and confirmed crews are only in Bolton for today. 

A notice in Victoria Square also states the filming is for 'Missing You'.

Cameramen could be seen shooting and reshooting actress Rosalind Eleazar walking across the square and pausing at a coffee stand, looking at newspapers and then walking off. 

It is not yet clear which character she is playing.

Filming locations for that series included Bolton town centre and Bolton School.

Quay Street Productions, which produced the drama, will also be producing Missing You. 

Executive producers are Harlan Coben, Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, Victoria Asare-Archer and Danny Brocklehurst, with Ms Asare-Archer also on writing duty. 

Missing You is being directed by Sean Spencer and produced by Guy Hescott.

It tells the story of Detective Kat Donovan, whose fiancé, Josh, disappeared 11 years ago without a trace.

Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again. 

Josh's reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.

Netflix confirmed that filming would begin in spring for the new series in January.

A spokesperson said: "Following the recent success of Fool Me Once (Top 10 in 91 countries) we’re excited to announce two new Harlan Coben limited series adaptations. 

"Missing You will begin production this spring, and will then be followed by Run Away." 

Cllr Nadeem Ayub, portfolio holder for culture, said: "It is great to see more filming taking place in Bolton. It is a great place for filming, people coming in and making films. 

"It is fantastic for the economy, fantastic brings people in from outside and showcases the great facilities, spaces and buildings we have in Bolton.

"It is great to see repeat productions, repeat business coming to make films and shows in the town."  

It marks the ninth on-screen adaptation of a Coben work to be produced for the streaming service, with a tenth, called 'Run Away' set to be produced at a later date. 

The cast of Missing You has yet to be announced publicly , but it is the latest Coben thriller to be filmed in Bolton, with key scenes for The Stranger filmed in the town.
