Drivers in and around Bolton will have a few road closures to deal with if they are driving around the town this week.

There are also additional closures happening across the next fortnight so it’s worth checking before you set out on your journey.

The roads will mainly be closed for barriers and structure.

If you are set to be travelling along these areas, it's best to take note of different diversions in place.

From November 20, 2023 at 8pm to March 31, 2024 at 5am

Motorists can expect moderate delays (10-30 minutes) as the M61 will be closed in both directions, junction 4 to junction 7. The lane closure will allow for horticulture (cutting and planting) to take place.

From March 11 at 8pm to March 15 at 5am

Expect slight delays (under 10 minutes) as the M61 northbound will be closed from junction 5 to junction 6. The lane closure is scheduled for drainage on behalf of National Highways.

From March 13 at 8pm to March 14 at 5am

Drivers should expect slight delays (under 10 minutes) as the M61 southbound, J3 to J1 will be closed. The lane closure is for barriers - permanent.

From March 13 at 9pm to March 14 at 6am

Moderate delays of between 10 and 30 minutes should be expected.

The closure concerns the M61 northbound, junction 4 to junction 5 and will be a carriageway closure for carriageway reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.
