A Horwich estate agent is celebrating its 10th anniversary as the town expands even further.

Redman Casey Sales and Lettings in Winter Hey Lane opened its doors in 2014 when estate agents David Redman and Janet Casey started their own business.

They both brought lengthy experience – Janet celebrates 40 years as an estate agent this year – and wanted to provide caring, professional services in the community.

“We aimed to help put the heart back into Horwich and I think we’ve done that,” stated Janet.

Within 12 months, Redman Casey was No.1 for selling homes in the BL6 postcode according to industry metrics – “and we’ve continued to do that ever since,” stated David.

Just a year later, the small company beat hundreds of other estate agents, some much bigger, to take the national New Agency of the Year title. This was just the start of their success story, though.

In 2016, reacting to requests from clients, they created a lettings’ division.

Today, from just David and Janet, the company has three full-time and two part-time sales’ staff and the lettings’ team numbers four full-time staff and one part-time.

This success has not come without extreme hard work, especially from David and Janet.

“We always worked long hours, including weekends, and still do,” explained Janet.

“Our first two clients came through the door because they could see I was still working late on. They told us that if we were prepared to put in those hours for the company, we would work hard for them.”

Redman Casey says it prides itself on fair, realistic valuations in transparent transactions and as a result, the majority of their work comes from referrals and recommendations.

While they says they offer enduring good service, Horwich itself has changed in the past decade.

Redevelopment around the area will bring an increase of people to Horwich with the completion of around, 2,500 new homes.

“Horwich is a popular place to live with its countryside, shopping, transport links and community feel,” added Janet. “We love it here – and we want to help more people love it, too.”
