Two roads in Bolton are to be closed at the start of next month whilst important gas works are undertaken by Cadent.

Crundale Road in Astley Bridge will be closed from April 1 for approximately two weeks whilst works are ongoing.

The road closure will prohibit all traffic from proceeding on Crundale Road from Thornham Drive to Ashover Close to allow gas works to take place.

An alternate route for traffic will be via Bramley Road to allow residents to travel around the area with ease.

Lord Stile Lane in Bromley Cross will also be closed for approximately two weeks from April 2 whilst gas works are ongoing.

The road closure will prohibit all traffic from proceeding on Lord Stile Lane from Bromley Cross Road to The Crescent to allow gas works to take place.

An alternate route for traffic will be via Hill Drive to allow residents to travel around the area with ease.

Cllr Nadeem Muslim said: “Due to significant gas works by Cadent, access to Lords Stile Lane will be blocked from Bromley Cross Road for up to two weeks as of Tuesday 2nd April. Access will be available from The Crescent via Rose Hill Drive.”

To ensure recycling bins are emptied during the works, council officials are asking residents to present them at the nearest accessible point to ensure that they can be emptied on the usual collection days.

Council officials say they want to apologise for any inconvenience the closures may cause.
