KNUTSFORD is clearly a hotbed for talented young martial artists based on the success some of the town’s youngsters have had of late.

Last week, we brought you the story of Alana Fagan qualifying for the WKC World Championships in Portugal later this year following her performance at a national tournament.

She will be joined on the English team by three students of the Academy of Martial Arts Cheshire, which is based at Egerton Youth Club.

Lyla Souch, Elise Evans and Thomas Cran-Crombie will be heading to Portugal in October having brought home medals from the WKKC English Championships earlier this month.

Ten-year-old Elise came home with a gold in the light continuous category and also a bronze in the points fighting event.

There were also bronze medals for Lyla, aged 13, and 11-year-old Thomas in the points fighting category in their respective age and weight classes.
