The owners of a 'loveable dog' have been left devastated after she was killed in a vicious attack by 'four dogs'.

Bob Taylor was called by his brother Matthew on  Thursday (March 28) to Yewdale Gardens in Breightmet after Rosie, a Jack Russell, was killed.

Bob said Rosie attacked by other dogs  as she was being walked.

He said that people - including council workers - tried to step in.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed a report was made to them regarding a dog attack on Yewdale Gardens.

Bob is now calling for measures to protect smaller dogs from vicious attacks by muzzling bigger dogs.

He said: “I rang the police, and they came after two and a half hours.

“We are devastated after the attack.

“It was his everything to my brother, who is disabled.

“Rosie was his pal, and now she has gone.”

Bob thinks bigger dog breeds should also be required to wear a muzzle like XL Bullies, which are now banned in England, when out.

He said: “My thoughts are that these big dogs need to be muzzled and under control, and if you cannot control them, you should not have them.

“It’s not been long when a man was attacked by a dog on this street."

In 2021, a man was attacked on the same road.

Bob said: “My brother doesn’t have any faith in the investigation because they only took the one dog when four dogs were involved, and other people have come forward and this was all told to the police.”

Bob and his brother said they are sharing their story as they want to warn others against dog attacks especially those with smaller dogs.
