Mothercare, Victoria Square, Bolton, 1974
In Looking Back we have featured several photos which have shown the construction of what was then the largest Mothercare store in the country.
This picture, from 1974, shows the ongoing building work in Victoria Square looking down Oxford Street.
The new store was built on the site of the former Commercial Hotel.
It’s interesting to see all the benches dotted around for shoppers to have a seat. Do you remember them?
