A state-of-the-art racing car simulator will be open to visitors to the University of Bolton this weekend.
The simulator will aim to recreate the experience of driving a high-performance racing car at the Deane Road university’s National Centre for Motorsport Engineering.
University of Bolton Vice Chancellor Professor George E Holmes says this could help promote careers in the motorsport industry.
He said: “We are engaged with STEM/technology employers to ensure we provide the skills for rewarding and sustainable careers and at NCME we are leading on many fronts.”
Professor Holmes and his colleagues say that the Racing Car Simulation Event and STEM Showcase will recreate the experience of racing a car around a track.
They says that the aim of the event is to demonstrate the teaching facilities available at the University of Bolton.
They also hope that this will demonstrate the wide range of programmes on offer at the National Centre for Motorsport Engineering.
These include motorsport and automotive performance engineering and electric vehicle technology.
