A car was winched off the road by a crane after police claimed its driver had left it “wilfully” blocking the road.

The black car was seen blocking the road on Bankfield Street, Deane, by police on patrol on Thursday, April 11.

As well as removing the car they say that they have now reported its driver for a traffic offence.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Officers from the Rumworth Neighbourhood Policing Team seized a vehicle on Bankfield Street.

“The vehicle was deemed to be wilfully obstructing the free passage of the highway.

“A Traffic Offence Report was issued and vehicle removed.”

An image supplied by police at the scene shows the car being lifted off the ground and being placed on a tow truck by a crane.

This comes after long running concerns about all kinds of anti-social driving on the roads all across Bolton in recent months.
