A POPULAR Gourock bar and restaurant has won permission to create a new roof terrace.

The Cafe Continental has been given the green light for the outdoor dining area.

Planning officials at Inverclyde Council have approved an application for an extension at the Kempock Street venue, on the condition that the terrace is not used after 9pm.

The lower level of the extension will be used as a refuse area, with the roof terrace sitting above.

Greenock Telegraph:

A report by council planners described the design and position of the terrace area as 'appropriate for the architectural design of the building'.

Images submitted along with the application by agents Rebecchi Architectural show space for nine tables with four seats.
