It all looks a bit different today. Taken in April 1962 this was the view along Oxford Street in Bolton looking towards Victoria Square.
The left of the main block was occupied by the Co-op with Whitakers next to it and the Westminster Bank (long before the days of Nat West) completing the line-up.
There were traffic lights at the end of Oxford Street as it would be another seven years before the area was pedestrianised.
