Bolton from the air, 1951
Bolton Town Hall and Le Mans Crescent draws the eye in this wonderful aerial photo of the town centre from 1951.
You can see buses travelling in front of the town hall on Victoria Square and at the top of the photo, the large expanse of Moor Lane Bus Station.
What is interesting to note are the number of homes so close to the town centre - ironically town centre living is once again being promoted. What landmarks do you recognise?
