Police have stepped up patrols after reports of a fight involving knives in what is believed to be an attempted robbery.

Officers were called to Cleggs Lane, Little Hulton, around midday yesterday.

The extent of the injuries suffered is still unclear at this time.

A 24-year-old man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of offensive weapon, affray and burglary and remains in custody for questioning.

Police are still looking for three other people.

Detective Inspector Michael Sharples of our Salford district said: “Since the report yesterday we have moved at pace to try and identify those responsible and know people in the area will have access to dash cam footage in particular in the moments leading up to and during the altercation.
