Taken in 1946, it shows the junction of Winter Hey Lane and Chorley New Road at Horwich.
It was taken first thing in the morning and records the scores of workers heading out for the day either by bus, tram, by bike or on foot.
Just look at the number of folk in the picture and the size of the queue for the trams.
Anyone identify the pub on the right?
