A man broke into several cars in and around Farnworth, causing damage and stealing valuable items.
He was also found to be in possession of a bladed article.
Gary Crawshaw, 46, of Westwood Close, Bolton, was found guilty of theft from a motor vehicle, criminal damage to motor vehicles, vehicle interference, possession of a bladed article and theft. He has been sentenced to 16 weeks in prison.
Police Sergeant Richards, from Greater Manchester Police’s Bolton South Neighbourhood Team, said: “These incidents have caused hundred[s] of pounds worth of damage with members of the public losing their valuable items.
“I hope this arrest provides reassurance to the public that our officers will always seek to take positive action against anyone suspected of committing a crime.”
