A wanted man linked with a string of offences across Bolton has been arrested in Manchester city centre.

Police say that the 28-year-old was arrested in the city centre on the evening of Saturday July 6 and was taken into custody for questioning.

He was wanted in connection with as many as 25 offences across Farnworth and Kearsley and other five offences in the Salford area.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “A wanted male aged 28 has been arrested today in Manchester City Centre after officers believed he had stolen items from a nearby store.

“He is also wanted in connection with 25 offences in the Farnworth and Kearsley areas of Bolton, and a further 5 offences in Salford.

“The male has been arrested on suspicion of 27 shoplifting offences, common assault, fear of violence and a domestic assault.

“He remains in custody for questioning.”

As yet officers have released no further details about the man’s identity or about the location in Manchester city centre where he was arrested.
