Two Bolton Council apprentices have been nationally recognised for their achievements.
Jordan Smith and Chelsea Beal stood out amongst 119 apprentices at the Local Government Apprenticeship of the Year 2024 event.
Working in the council's sign shop as a technician and in the accountancy team respectively, both Jordan and Chelsea represented Bolton in a series of online challenges.
The tasks at the event were centred around this year’s theme of Health and Wellbeing.
Working with other apprentices from across England and Wales in, they competed for the coveted title.
Jordan's team notably took home the award for joint best overall team.
Cllr Nick Peel, leader of Bolton Council said: "Jordan and Chelsea are fantastic ambassadors for apprenticeships in local government.
"We are proud of their success and that they have been recognised at a national event.
"They have represented Bolton Council brilliantly and congratulations to Jordan for the Best Overall Team Award.
"Apprenticeship schemes are an important and highly valued aspect of our workforce which bring new talent to drive the future success of the organisation."
The Local Government Apprentice of the Year event is an exciting joint partnership between the LGA, East of England LGA and South West Councils.
Now in its fourth year, the event gathers level two and three local government apprentices from across England and Wales.
The event's continued success is evident in all participants, all either current apprentices or those qualified within the last year.
