A warning has been issued to Northern train travellers to expect short notice cancellations across the North West this Sunday, July 28.
Services, especially last trains, may be severely disrupted.
"We advise customers to check their journey before travelling," cautioned Northern.
Some routes have been struck off entirely, with no trains or replacement buses running.
These include Manchester Victoria to Wigan North Western (via Westhoughton), Preston to Colne, and Manchester Victoria to Chester.
In the latter case, Leeds services will conclude and begin at Manchester Victoria.
Travellers have also been advised not to count on the last services and to allow adequate travel time.
Despite efforts by control teams to keep the train plan updated, some displayed trains may not run.
All are urged to check closer to travel time.
