Emergency services responded to a kitchen fire in Farnworth.
Three fire engines were sent after neighbours saw smoke coming from an Eldercock Grove flat yesterday (August 8) at 6.50pm.
A pan had been abandoned on the hob while residents were not home.
Fire crews from Farnworth, Bolton and Atherton were sent to the scene.
Two firefighters in breathing apparatus used a door ram to enter the flat. But they ended up breaking down the door to fight the fire.
The hob fire was caught “just early enough” while it was only smoking.
Police and ambulance services were not called.
