People are being asked to walk over fire to raise money for St Ann's Hospice.
The hospice is looking for people to take on the challenge of walking over 20ft of wood embers burning at 1,236 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Firewalk will take place on November 10 at the St Ann's Little Hulton hospice site and is open to anyone over the age of 14 if accompanied by an adult.
Those who take part are asked to raise £150 each to help the charity continue their work supporting patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Zoe Fagan, a supporter of St Ann’s Hospice, took on the Firewalk last year.
Ms Fagan said: "I was quite nervous building up to the Firewalk, when you see it immediately your brain tells you shouldn’t be walking on hot coals and fire.
"It was nerve-racking but you get a real buzz from doing it and a sense of achievement.
"The build up to the Firewalk with the Blaze ‘Fire Master’ instructor was really useful as she shared her experiences, and we also spoke through positive affirmations that really helped.
"There is a lot of mind over matter before you do the Firewalk, I don’t think it’s as much a physical challenge as it is a mental achievement, it’s the element of fire that creates the mental hurdle."
Ms Fagan raised £700 for the hospice last year.
She said: "St Ann’s Hospice provided my mum Sheila with end of life care and provided support to all of my family.
"For me just knowing she was being cared for in a kind and considerate way gave me peace of mind and some relief.
"They do an amazing job.
"My gran was also supported by the Hospice @ Home team, so St Ann’s Hospice is very close to my heart.
"St Ann’s is there to lighten the load off of loved ones and I think they are a fantastic cause.
"I raised £700 by taking on the Firewalk, I’m so glad I could support St Ann’s like they supported my family."
Ms Fagan’s friends and family watched her take on the challenge, which she did on her own.
She said: "It didn’t matter that I did the firewalk by myself.
"Everyone taking part is doing it for the same cause, we all have a loved one in our mind or a connection to St Ann’s Hospice so there’s a real sense of comradery.
"It didn’t feel like I was doing the Firewalk on my own, I felt like I had a whole circle of people behind me."
The registration fee to take part in the Firewalk is £20.
