Children as young as 14 have been sentenced for their role in the Bolton town centre disorder, which came amid far right clashes across the country following the killing of three young girls in Southport as part of a mass stabbing in late July.
The man thought to be the first to be imprisoned following the nationwide disorder was one of Bolton’s own – and he’s already been released.
Earlier this week, a young girl from Bury, aged just 12, pleaded guilty to violent disorder in Manchester city centre in August.

In Bolton, far-right groups gathered around Newport Street and Victoria Square on Sunday, August 4.
Counter-protesters had also gathered around Oxford Street leading onto the square with police granted special powers to order people to leave the area.
Items were thrown during the protest while stand-offs developed around Bradshawgate and Victoria Square, with fireworks heard to go off at one stage.
By just after 4pm most of the crowds had dispersed and GMP announced it had authorised section 60 stop and search powers in the area.
