People in Bolton are urged to join a 30km fundraising challenge.

The event is in aid of Lancashire Wildlife Trust.

The Big Wild Walk, organised by Lancashire Wildlife Trust, hopes to be the largest yet, encouraging wildlife enthusiasts to raise funds to support its work.

Participants can create their own challenge, with the goal of covering 30km in a way that suits them.

The money raised will aid wildlife recovery and contribute to the Trust's mission to protect 30 per cent of the UK's land and sea for nature by 2030.

The funds will go towards the Trust's £300,000 Step Up for Wildlife appeal.

A digital fundraising pack is available to assist participants and includes a sponsorship sheet, distance tracking form, and social media posts.

Lucy Coxhead, fundraising manager at Lancashire Wildlife Trust, said: "By taking a walk in our beautiful local landscapes across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside, or wheeling around the block, everyone involved is playing a vital part in bringing nature back."
