A historic brass band is banging the drum for success after reaching the national finals and being promoted to the first division.
Eagley Band, 'one of the oldest brass bands in the world', finished as runners-up in the second section at the 2025 North West Regional Brass Band contests at Blackpool's Winter Gardens on Sunday, February 23.
This success means the band has been promoted to the first section and will automatically be invited to the 2025 National Brass Band Finals in Cheltenham this September.
Musical director Chris Wormald said: "All of us at Eagley are thrilled to have qualified for the national finals again this year as a result of our stunning performance in the iconic Blackpool Opera House.
"The band played superbly from start to finish."

The band also celebrated the success of their former cornet player, Bolton actress Lauren Patel, who will attend this year's Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles.
Mr Wormald said: "We are also thrilled for our former cornet player Lauren, whom I taught and conducted in my Smithills School bands for five years and sent me a lovely text message yesterday.
"She was part of our Eagley Band first ever victory at Ripon Contest prior to the lockdowns and still keeps in touch.
"We're all incredibly proud and happy for her.
"Lauren's brother Dom is our timpani player and will be on stage with us again at our next Bolton concert on Saturday, March 29 at Bridge Church."
