We've rounded up a number of Bolton cases heard by magistrates recently - read on to find out who's been in the dock.
Shoplifting
A man was fined and ordered to pay compensation after stealing from shops.
Simon Murphy, 48, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court that he had stolen two boxes of bacon at a Tesco in Adlington worth around £100 on November 28 last year.
He then stole around £60 worth of confectionery from Sainsbury’s in Horwich on February 27 this year and then £100 worth of bacon and salmon from the Co-op on Winter Hey Lane.
Murphy, of Longworth Road, Horwich, was ordered to pay £260 compensation and ordered to pay a £40 fine.
Driving while banned
A man was fined after driving while banned and without proper insurance.
Robert Sztojka, 39, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court that he had driven a Ford Fiesta on Bark Street, Bolton without insurance on January 11 this year.
That same year he had been driving while banned.
Sztojka, of Gilnow Lane, was ordered to pay a fine of £120 with costs of £85, a surcharge of £48 and given six points on his driving licence.
Drink driving
A man was banded from the roads after drink driving.
Marek Golofit, 39, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court that he had driven on Ainsworth Lane, Bolton on December 28 last year while over the legal alcohol limit.
That same day he had been driving without a licence and without proper insurance.
Golofit, of Ainsworth Lane, was banned for driving for 12 months with a reduction period of three and was fined £600.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £240.
Assault
A man was given a community order for assault and possession of cannabis.
Bachi Bah, 25, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court that he had assaulted a man in Bolton on November 30 last year.
That same day he had cannabis in his possession.
Bah, of Staplehurst Road, Manchester, was given a community order lasting until April 22 next year and fined £116.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £114.
Drug driving
A man was given a community order after drug driving.
Ryan Crofts, 26, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court that he had driven on Bradshaw Road, Bolton while over the legal limit for Benzoylecgonine.
This was on May 19 last year.
Crofts, of Princess Street, Haslingden, was a given a community order up to April 4 next year and banned from driving for 29 months.
He was also fined £1,283 and ordered to pay costs of £85 with a surcharge of £114.
