Bolton viewers may have spotted a familiar face stepping into the Big Brother house last night

Cameron Barnes from Little Lever became the latest contestant on the hit ITV show, and his family will be on the after-show tonight.

The 25-year-old MMA mixed martial arts sportsman and MMA coach joined the show on day two as part of a new staggered launch format, and, in the words of his family, is already making himself at home.

The family say that the opportunity to take part presented itself, and easy-going Cameron did not turn it down - plus his mum loves the show.

Proud sister Savannah, a personal trainer, described him as a proud Bolton lad.

She said: "Cameron plays for Little Lever’s local football team and is a loyal supporter of Bolton Wanderers.

"He also trains in martial arts and has been involved in helping coach both adults and children within the community, something he’s passionate about, particularly when it comes to building confidence in young people."

She believes he has a great chance of winning, just like fellow Little Lever contestant David Potts who won celebrity Big Brother last year.

Cameron attended Little Lever School and Mytham Primary School.

Savannah said: "His grounded personality, natural charisma, and strong connection to his hometown have already made an impression, and we believe he’ll be a memorable face this season.

"He follows in the footsteps of Bolton’s own David Potts, a winner of Celebrity Big Brother. "We’re incredibly proud to see another local making it onto such a national platform."

Already, some of the odds on him winning are at 6-1.

His arrival in the house was teased last night, but tonight his full promo video will be shown, where viewers will be able to find out more about the Bolton lad.

Dad Lee said: His mum is just so ecstatic, she has always watched the show, she loves the show and is now watching Cameron through the night.

"Cameron is just being himself, he has made himself at home and is already flirting with the girls. He spent a long time in the jacuzzi.

"He has already made friends with the other two lads. Everything you see on television is Cameron, he is not a game player."

He added: "His friends all got together to watch him last night, and we stayed up watching it into the early hours for as long as we could."

Mum Deborah and Savannah will be travelling to London for the after-show party, which will be aired on ITV2 tonight, but before then viewers should see Cameron bigging up Bolton at 9pm.
