University of Greater Manchester’s sports rehabilitation programmes have been named among the best in the UK.
The programmes received the top ranking in this year’s National Student Survey (NSS), earning first place nationally for both 'teaching on my course' and 'learning resources'.
They also ranked eighth in the UK in the 2026 Guardian University Guide league tables.
Nathan Warner, who graduated in the summer with a first-class honours degree in sport rehabilitation, said: "I had an absolutely fantastic three years at the university and a course that I would recommend in a heartbeat.
"From academic growth, to the variety of placement experiences, it has been a faultless experience.
"I've been privileged to have the opportunity of part-time work across second and third year, and am now looking forward to continuing work in the industry on a full-time basis across two clinics."
Based at Bolton One, an on-campus sports facility, the programmes offer practical experience through placements with professional sports teams, private clinics and charities.
Cat Mistry, programme lead in sport rehabilitation at the university, said: "We are delighted and proud that our sport rehabilitation programmes have been recognised as best for teaching and learning in the whole country as voted for by students."
Sport rehabilitators are trained to prevent, assess, diagnose and treat injuries related to sports and physical activity.
Ms Mistry added: "Graduate sport rehabilitators are in demand thanks to our increasing participation in sport and exercise and the injuries we inevitably pick up.

"Additionally, sport rehabilitators are able to support individuals with health promotion and lifestyle management.
"Sport rehabilitators are essential across all levels of sport, from amateur to elite."
The BASRaT-accredited honours degree prepares graduates to become registered graduate sport rehabilitators, qualified to support athletes throughout the rehabilitation process.
