Ambulance call handler trainers are striking again this week.
The trainers, who work across the North West, including Lancashire, walked out on Wednesday, December 3.
They will strike again today (Thursday, December 4) in a dispute with the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) over the loss of a £3,000 recruitment and retention payment.
A picket line will be place from 8am to 11am outside ICC Broughton, Garstang Road in Preston.
The latest round of strikes marks 40 days of industrial action by the trainers, who are responsible for training 999 call handlers.
James Bull, North West regional organiser for UNISON, said: "Ambulance bosses can’t justify the removal of this payment.
"Control room staff are critical to dealing with emergencies effectively when there's so much at stake.
"They're being shown a lack of respect for their essential skills and professionalism by managers.
"The strikes will continue until there's a meaningful consultation with the workforce and a fair settlement is reached."
According to UNISON, the payment was withdrawn without proper consultation and despite NWAS experiencing high staff turnover.
The union argues that the ongoing dispute could end up costing the ambulance service more than the cost of finding a resolution.
