Drivers are being warned to expect delays on one of Bolton's busiest routes after three separate sets of roadworks have started on Blackburn Road today.
The works, being carried out by three different organisations at various points along the road, are expected to cause disruption for motorists throughout June, with traffic signals in operation at multiple locations.
The longest-running scheme is taking place in Egerton, where Cadent Gas engineers have started utility repair and maintenance works between Victoria Grange and 353 Blackburn Road.
Temporary two-way traffic signals will be in place from 7am to 7pm each day until June 29.
Motorists travelling through the area are likely to face delays during the month-long project.
Elsewhere on Blackburn Road, near the junction with Birley Street, Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has begun highway repair and maintenance works. Multi-way traffic signals will operate between 7pm and 11pm each evening until June 3.
The works have been scheduled overnight in a bid to reduce disruption during peak daytime traffic periods.
A third set of works is also under way outside 1013 Blackburn Road (BL1 7LG), where United Utilities Water is carrying out a permanent reinstatement following earlier excavation work.
Two-way traffic signals are in operation between 9.30am and 3pm today while the final resurfacing stage is completed.
Bolton Council is advising drivers to allow extra time for journeys along Blackburn Road and to plan ahead where possible.
