Bolton Wanderers players swapped football for food as they took on a blind taste test featuring some of best-known pasties from the town's famous bakers.

Ruben Rodrigues and Thierry Gale sampled a selection of Carrs Pasties flavours during a fun video hosted by social media creator Jacob Pasquill.

While Chris Forino fed Max Conway a spoonful of mushy peas.

The pair were challenged to identify steak, chicken curry, minted lamb, sweet apple and cheese pasties.

Gale emerged as the winner of the challenge after correctly identifying three of the flavours first.

Rodrigues managed to correctly guess one of the pasties during the tasting.

Forino and Conway had Chicken curry pasties and steak as well as the peas.

The challenge showcased a range of products from Carrs Pasties, one of Bolton's longest-established bakeries.

The family-run business was founded in 1938 and has become closely associated with the town over the decades. Carrs has also been a long-term partner of Bolton Wanderers and sponsors the North Stand at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

The video was shared online, giving supporters the chance to see two Wanderers players test their knowledge of one of Bolton's most famous local foods.
