Police made several arrests, seized vehicles and carried out targeted patrols across Bolton as part of Neighbourhood Policing Week.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Bolton North Neighbourhood Team were out on patrol on Thursday (June 19) evening in Halliwell, Bromley Cross, Astley Bridge and Harwood, carrying out a range of enforcement activity aimed at tackling crime and anti-social behaviour.

During the operation, a woman was arrested on Tonge Moor Road on suspicion of burglary following an investigation into an incident in Harwood.

A man was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving after officers stopped a vehicle on Halliwell Road.

Police seized a car on Wolfenden Street after discovering the driver had been disqualified from driving.

A van was also seized on Darwen Road after its driver allegedly failed to stop for officers before abandoning the vehicle.

As part of the patrols, officers searched four people who were suspected of being in possession of drugs or stolen property.

Neighbourhood officers also visited six pubs screening the England football match to carry out licensing and safety checks.

In a further success, police were able to reunite a resident with property that had been stolen from a vehicle in Halliwell.

The activity formed part of Greater Manchester Police's Neighbourhood Policing Week campaign, which highlights the work being carried out by local teams to tackle crime and support communities.
