A barber is simply delighted after his business was named one of the best in Bolton.
Kaleem Mahmood of K Barbers has said he is “buzzing” to have been selected as a finalist for The Bolton News Best Barber Shop award.
The shop, located on Crescent Road, Great Lever was set up in 2016.
Mahmood moved from Preston where he worked with his brother to set up his own barber in Bolton.
“It was hard to get customers at first, it was a new place for me. I worked very hard for the first two years, and now it’s been ten years on Crescent Road, and I’m really happy.”
This is Mahmood’s first time applying for the award, and it was thanks to his clients that he did.
He said: “I just got a message from one of my customers. I wasn’t expecting to be in the top ten. I don’t know, maybe I had never tried.”
On being selected for the award, he said: “It feels really good, it feels amazing. If you come in the top 1, it’s really good because it must mean people must love you and like your haircuts.”
Giving haircuts, Mahmood said, is the best part of the job. “It’s good to make people happy and give good cuts, it gives people confidence”.
Winning the award, he said, would have a big impact.
“That would be really, really amazing to be honest. It would be great for my business to grow more.”
