A pub prides itself on being at the heart of the community.
The Cheetham Arms, on Blackburn Road, has become a hub for regular events, homemade food, and local pub teams.
It's our pick this time for the Pub of the Week.
We spoke to Melvin Deamer, who runs the pub alongside his partner Hazel Ruddick, about what makes the Cheetham Arms special.
Can you introduce yourself?
"I'm Melvin Deamer, and we also have Hazel. Obviously we work together."
What's the pub like?
"We're not trying to make it into a sports pub. That's not what we want. We want it as a family, community pub.
"It's about getting everybody together and enjoying themselves."

Do you have any regular events?
"We've done two kids' parties now, both of them being really successful days, so we've got another two coming up over the next two months.

What's your current draught selection?
- Moretti
- John Smith's

Can you tell me a bit more about the history of the pub?
"To be honest, I'm trying to find more out about that because I like people to be able to come in and know the history of the place.
"This building has been here for many, many years.
"The bar's changed position three or four times over those years, so I'm still trying to find somebody who's got pictures of how it was and how it is now, so people can relate to it.
"But we're just trying to build it up. As you know, pubs are hard work now, but we're trying to get more people in.
"We have zero tolerance regarding drugs because we want to be family-friendly. It's a community for the locals and that's what it's here for.
"People in the local area want somewhere they can come down and socialise with their families where everyone knows one another."
Do you have any clubs or teams?
"We have a darts team at the moment.
"We're looking for a pool team for next season, and we'd also like another darts team so we can have a home match every week.
"We put food on for them during the evenings and look after them as best as we can."

Do you serve food?
"Yes, we do. We have an amazing chef and she's been producing great quality food.
"It's just good, honest pub food.
"If somebody wants a meal done in a certain way, she can rustle it up in that kitchen."
What's the best part about running a pub?
"It ain't the money, let's put it that way. For us, we just love the people in the pub. We had a gentleman in who I think was 94 years old come in with his family for a meal.
"I helped him to the table, they had a lovely meal and left us lovely feedback on Facebook. It was really nice to be able to do that and know that we'd made that happen.
"So it's things like that more than anything. It makes it all worth it."

What's the worst part?
"Long hours and line cleans, but it's all part of the pub world.
"You just get on and do it. We love knowing every pint poured is the best pint we can honestly serve. Everything has to be right because that's what the customer has paid for.
"The same with the food.
"If they ask for food, we aim to deliver quality."
