Do you know when you can watch Emmerdale and Coronation Street this week?
The FIFA World Cup has now finished and won’t disrupt soap schedules for the next five days as the schedule is back to its normal routine for the first time in weeks.
Here’s what we know about the TV schedule and when you can watch your favourite soaps.
Emmerdale and Coronation Street finally return to normal TV schedule after weeks of disruption
Fans are used to getting five new 30-minute episodes of Emmerdale and Coronation Street a week, but due to recent disruption, this hasn’t been the case for a while.
Instead, they’ve had some weekdays without any soaps at all and longer episodes on other days to make up for the loss of episodes.
But now, ITV viewers will get the usual episodes this week, with 30-minute episodes of Emmerdale and Corrie airing from 8pm and 8.30pm respectively, Monday to Friday.
This gives fans their usual 2.5 hours of episodes, so there are no weekend slots this week.
Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher reveals why she left ITV soap after 7 years
Mollie Gallagher, known for playing Nina Lucas in Coronation Street for seven years, has shared why she left the ITV soap.
Leaving the cobbles meant Mollie could turn her attention to theatre, where she makes her professional debut as Clarice Starling in The Silence of the Lambs, which is touring the UK and Ireland.
Did you know about these actresses who have starred in rival soaps?
Former EastEnders star John Partridge and ex-Emmerdale actor Oliver Farnworth, whom Mollie hadn’t met before, are also part of the cast.
When asked by Digital Spy if she left Corrie to pursue a theatre career, Mollie said: “Yeah, it was a tricky one because I love Corrie so much.”
She added that her departure after years on the show was “a really hard situation”, but that she wanted a challenge and to try something new.
Mollie added: “This new job is completely different because it's theatre.
“It was sad – in an ideal world I'd be doing both, but that just wouldn't work!”
