A new role at the heart of government will see one MP take on greater responsibility for an issue she says matters deeply to the people she represents.
Kirith Entwistle, Labour MP for Bolton North East, has been appointed Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government.
She will support Angela Rayner, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, having previously served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Treasury team.

Ms Entwistle said: "I'm excited to embark on this new chapter, helping the government deliver on housing targets, transformative legislation and issues that will benefit my constituents across Bolton North East."
The appointment means Ms Entwistle will act as a link between backbench MPs and ministers, advising on parliamentary opinion while helping communicate government policy to colleagues.
Housing has been a key focus throughout her time as an MP.
She is a Parliamentary Patron for YMCA and has supported work to deliver more supported housing for young adults.
She has also visited developments including Creams Mill in Little Lever and housing projects with Be One Homes to learn about affordable and social housing.

Ms Entwistle has worked with Bolton Council's Housing Options service to understand the pressures facing people on the housing waiting list.
She has also met organisations supporting domestic abuse victims, new parents, recently released prisoners and people needing supported accommodation.
Her office said the work had helped build a detailed understanding of the housing system and would allow her to bring that experience into her new government role.
