Mrs Merajbanu Dasu submitted plans on Monday August 10 to add an extension to the front of her house at 14 Romney Chase.
The plans will add a porch to the downstairs lounge area, increasing the size of the front door entrance of the house, which currently opens straight into the front room.
The first floor of the property, which contains three bedrooms and a bathroom, will be unaffected by the plans.
A neighbourhood consultation plan has been drawn up, which will include speaking to residents of 8, 9, 12, and 16 Romney Chase.
The back of the house will also be entirely unaffected, with the porch only affecting the front of the house.
As it currently stands, the front porch does not extend beyond the frame of the house itself.
Under the new plans, the porch will be both extended and made longer, being wider than the front face of the house itself.
Currently, the garage extends further towards the street than any other part of the house, but the extension will extend the porch until it is level with it.
Romney Chase is a residential cul-d-sac in Astley Bridge, just off Belmont Road.
