A Westhoughton man has been sentenced after admitting assaulting the same victim on two separate occasions last year.
Effa Ettah, of Brandforth Gardens, Westhoughton, has been convicted of two counts of assault by beating.
The offences, which took place on February 9 and November 15, 2025, both involved the assault of the same woman.
The 46-year-old changed his plea to guilty at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
He was handed a community order, which will run until August 31, 2027, and includes 100 hours of unpaid work.
A restraining order was also put in place, preventing him from contacting the victim directly or indirectly, except for the purposes of legal proceedings via a solicitor or through the courts.
This order will remain in effect until August 31, 2028.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £114 surcharge.
All payments must be made by September 29, 2026.
The guilty plea was taken into account when sentencing.
