Serco delivered a £108 million boost to the North West economy last year.

New research by Bradshaw Advisory highlights the wider economic impact of public procurement, showing how companies like Serco contribute to job creation and regional growth.

The North West is one of Serco’s largest regions by both employee numbers and economic contribution, outside of London and the South East.
Of the 73 Westminster constituencies in the North West, Serco’s employees live or work in 58, covering nearly 80 per cent of the region.
Serco’s economic impact extends through its supply chain, supporting an additional 1,530 jobs and spending £124 million with suppliers in the North West last year.
Around half of these are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The report also found that Serco supports more than one supply-chain job for every two people it directly employs across the UK.
Ms Walters said: "The North West is an important region for Serco where we deliver a diverse range of services for citizens on behalf of national and local government.
"I’m proud of the work we do, delivered by our dedicated, professional colleagues who support our armed forces and justice system, help hospitals run smoothly and support citizens access to essential services."

Serco delivers public services across defence, justice, immigration, and citizen services in all four nations of the UK.
Its employment footprint is broad, with 40 per cent of its English jobs located in the most deprived 30 per cent of areas, and 19 per cent in rural areas, compared to a national average of 12 per cent.
The company also employs more than 4,000 young people aged 16 to 24 across the UK.
