DRIVERS in Bolton should prepare for a series of road closures as essential works are set to take place.
Cawdor Avenue in Farnworth will be temporarily closed starting on September 28, 2026, for approximately eight days.
The restrictions are set to prohibit all traffic from proceeding on Cawdor Avenue from Hugo Street to Harper Green Road.
This closure is necessary to allow electricity works to occur, with an alternate route available via Campbell Street.
The order will remain in effect for 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever comes first.
Back Lever Edge Lane South will also face a temporary closure from this date for about two days.
The restrictions will prohibit all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from entering, proceeding, or standing on Back Lever Edge Lane South from Duncombe Road to Anfield Road.
This closure is required for water works being executed on or near the road. An alternate route for traffic will be via Duncombe Road, Ainsdale Road, and Anfield Road.
Additionally, Rishton Lane is scheduled to close on October 5, 2026, for approximately five days.
The restrictions will prevent all traffic from proceeding on Rishton Lane from Sandham Street to Rigby Court. This closure is to facilitate electricity works, with an alternate route available via Rupert Street and Division Street.
The Order will last for 18 months or until the works are completed.
