A busy road will be closed for five days from October 26.

Lostock Junction Lane will be closed for resurfacing works from October 26, between Glengarth Drive and Rumworth Road.

All traffic will be prohibited on this stretch of road while works are undertaken, and diversion signs will be in place.

Lostock, Heaton, and Chew Moor Cllr Anne Galloway said: "I'm pleased that this particularly poor stretch of road is being properly resurfaced.

"It's a heavily used route close by Lostock Station and  Lostock Primary School."

According to Cllr Galloway, the road came up in discussions she has had with residents, who requested something be done about it.

An alternate route will be available via Junction Road West and Beaumont Road.

Bolton Council said: "The Council intends to make an order, operative on 26 October 2026 for 5 days approximately, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic from proceeding on Lostock Junction Lane from Glengarth Drive to Rumworth Road, to allow resurfacing works to take place.

"Alternate route will be via Junction Rd West, Beaumont Rd. The Order will end after 18 months or on completion of the works whichever first occurs."
